TWICE!!!

When you have a chance, stop by the OFC and read the beautiful blog from Clay Aiken.  We still don't have any concrete news.  Clay said that there are just too many people that have to sign off on the dotted lines.  He did sound frustrated and sad that he could not share with us yet.  However, Clay said that he was more excited about March 12th (which he said is confirmed) than any event he has participated in for a long time.

Clay's second blog was a list of possible hotels in Raleigh that might be convenient for March 12th.  I think he wants us there.

Thank you, Clay for signing on and letting us know that you hadn't forgotten about us.

I am a bit embarrassed to say I spent then entire day almost chained to the computer.  I had all my work on my desk, but found myself refreshing over and over.

As the day went by, I became a bit disappointed and nervous, but I reminded myself that Clay Aiken is an honorable man and that if I was frustrated, he must have been frantic.

The following quote is a great one for today.

"There can be no deep disappointment where there is not deep love."
Martin Luther King, Jr.

Well, tomorrow is another day and I look forward to all the Clay news that is  in the future.  Hopefully, we won't have to wait much longer.

I was going to post a couple of wonderful Clay videos, but YouTube is down for maintenance so a few great pictures will remind us of why we are waiting.

Oh My!!  I think I just proved that it is worth the wait!!

Please remember that as soon as we have any news, we will post here so that you will know what is happening.  Also, another reminder to post some more love songs in the February 6th blog.  We already have some great entries, but it will be more fun if we can get some more.

February 7, 2004 was a typical Saturday night.  At 11:30pm, televisions all over the US switched to NBC to watch the popular show, Saturday Night Live. The guest host of the evening was Megan Mullally, but the star of the evening was Clay Aiken.

The preceding week, NBC teased their audience with lots of fun promos for the show and each one showed Clay just being his "funny" self.  There was even one with a "pasty" that was a parody on the Super Bowl Halftime Show.

Most Clay Aiken fans knew the night was going to be great as soon as we saw Clay jump on stage dressed in a white tux and belting out "She's So Hot!"

Clay was actively involved throughout the show.  One of the highlights was a skit about getting into the Grammy Awards.  The ill-fitted suit, the curly wig, the exaggerated accent and especially the "Aiken Wink" made Trey Aiken and the skit a highlight of the entire season.

Besides acting, Clay sang   "Invisible" and "The Way."  When the show was over, it was fun to see all the cast hugging each other and congratulating Clay for the great job that he did.

Nobody sings a love song better than Clay Aiken.  He has the ability to make us fall in love over and over again.

The best love songs are in the heart of the beholder. Songs that strike a cord of passion, belonging, and self expression are the ones that end up being your favorites. The very second a song starts playing will most likely identify an instant in time when you were either falling in love, deeply in love, or falling out of love.

It takes a great artist and great lyrics to be a source of inspiration and expression.  The combination is an influence on your emotions which help to decide what the best love songs are for you.

There is a love song for every genre of music. From hard rock to the oldies and gospel, there is a limitless amount of music to choose from to celebrate the love in your heart.

What are your favorite love songs of all time that you would love to hear Clay Aiken sing? Are they classics or contemporaries? Maybe you like a ballad or one with a dance beat. How about country or pop or rock?

We did such a good job of putting together a list of Christmas songs that I am sure we can come up with a great selection of love songs for Clay to sing.

Please list your top three or four love or romantic songs that you would like  Clay to sing. It doesn’t matter if he has already recorded them or if they are new to him.  And try not to read the comments until you list your own selections.  Of course, if you post four songs today and then think of the very best, just add it in another comment.

If you have the time, why not share why you like the songs.  Also, have you kept one favorite song for years or do your favorites change over time?

Let’s give ourselves one week to compile our list so the deadline is Saturday, February 13th.  I will list the winners on Valentine’s Day.

Have fun and let’s be creative.

Clay Aiken seems to have many fans that are women.  They range in age from pre-teens to grandmothers.  Each one should be wearing red today.

Today is National Wear Red Day, a part of the American Heart Association’s Go Red for Women movement, and is a simple, but powerful, way to call attention to heart disease and stroke.

Heart disease often is thought of as a “man’s disease,” but it is the leading cause of death for both women and men in the U.S., and women account for 52 percent of the total heart disease deaths, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

The stark reality is that one in three women will die of heart disease.

The Go Red for Women movement strives to educate women about their risk for heart disease and stroke, how to recognize signs of a heart attack or stroke and how to live healthier lives in an attempt to prevent heart disease and stroke.

The American Heart Association’s Go Red for Women Web site has an incredible amount of information.

How smart the founders of this project were to choose the month of February to celebrate the day.  After all, February is well-known for being the month of love.

That makes me think of love songs…..especially love songs sung by Clay Aiken.

It seems that Clay Aiken has great timing in selecting the songs for his new CD and great timing for releasing the album.  We all know that good timing is a huge part of being successful.  Maybe the following is a co-incidence, but maybe it’s just good timing. The American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers (ASCAP) will host its 18th annual Latin Music Awards at the Beverly Hilton Hotel [...] Continue Reading…

Clay Aiken hosted a wonderful event on Monday.  Everything was planned and put together with a great deal of care.   The event gave us education, friendship, comedy and the best singing around.  Having just gotten home, I have just begun to check out the comments and "Clack" that are all about the wonderful concert that Clay Aiken gave on Monday night.  Seems like we are headed for a [...] Continue Reading...

If you ever have the opportunity to see Clay Aiken perform live, be sure and attend.  I was at the Golfing event on February 1, 2010 at the Mirasol Country Club. The entire event was amazing. Right now I am on a plane on my way home, remembering all the excitement from the event. One of the things I remember the most are all the new friends I met.  So many [...] Continue Reading...
