Clay Aiken, Christmas and Radio Play!

Clay Aiken – Radio Play…these two entities are seldom mentioned in the same sentence. This is something I will never understand.

Although the Internet (52%) has surpassed radio (32%) as the first place to turn when seeking out new music, radio is still very popular with 12 to 24 year olds. In the latest study by Edison Research, 92% of the respondents said that they listen to AM/FM radio.

The holiday season changes everything on the radio. Fortunately, radio seems to embrace Clay’s wonderful voice and agrees with Clay fans that feel that no one can sing Christmas music better than Clay Aiken.

On Monday, Brian Mansfield who writes the Idol Chatter blog for USA Today reported on radio spins for American Idols.  The following are the spins for Clay.  The first number is his place on the list this week and the second number is last week’s placement.

For the entire list, visit:     USA Today

Congratulations, Clay…. it is so much fun to hear you on the radio!

The National Inclusion Project is the Christie Cookie’s Charity of the Month.  Titled, Chippin’ in for Kids, Christie’s Cookies will donate 20% of the merchandise price to the Project.

The cookie assortment includes Oatmeal Raisin, Chocolate Chip and Chocolate Macadamia Nut.  It already sounds good.  What sold me was the beautiful cookie tin with the National Inclusion Project’s emblem on the cover.  This beautiful tin will stay on my desk and hopefully it will be something that people will see and ask me about!!  This is a great way to raise some income for the Project and get some great publicity too.

For more information or to order some cookies, visit Chippin’ in for Kids.

Don’t forget to add your Christmas song choices in Monday’s blog.  There are some great suggestions already, but it will be more fun to get more suggestions!!

  1. Musicfan….It's wonderful to see Clay being played on the radio….and yes, for the life of me, I cannot understand why he doesn't get played at any other time of the year…He has a voice like no other….?????

My radio station is starting to play him as well, and they NEVER have Clay on. It's a beautiful thing to hear!!!!!! All I can say is….IT'S ABOUT DAMN TIME!!!!! No one sings Christmas songs like Clay, once you hear his rendition, he owns the song… I'm hoping that whenever Decca releases a single, it will be played….non-Christmas time…as well….

  2. It is so nice to hear Clay on my radio and our station WRAL doesn't play him at all either Judy, so this is great for me.

  3. It's so sad that it's a treat and not the norm to hear Clay's voice on the radio. You are correct Judy; his voice is like no other.

  4. My station Magic 107.7 here in Orlando, plays him all the time at Christmas. I really enjoy hearing him singing OHN to me. I say Clay does the best rendition. So, I am enjoying listening to my very favorite singer right now.

  5. Christmas and Clay Aiken go together. I love hearing on the radio. Here's hoping that Christmas 2011 will have a new Christmas CD and/or a Christmas Tour.

  6. The snowflake background is really pretty. I sure wish we could hear Clay on the radio year round, but I'm thankful that at least we get to hear him frequently at Christmas time.

  7. I walked into Walmart yesterday morning and it brought a smile to my face to hear them playing Clay's Merry Christmas With Love CD.
