Clay Aiken – Can You Paint?
Posted by: | Comments
Clay Aiken………your artistic skills are needed.
How are your painting skills?? Do you know someone else who is a creative artist?? OR……maybe you know a group of kids who would like to participate in a special project. If the answer to any of these questions is yes, The National Inclusion Project has a great idea for you.
Named “Painted Bottoms,” the project is a creative fundraiser which allows an individual or a team to turn an unfinished oak rocker or chair into a fine work of art.
The finished chairs will be placed in one of the four categories and judged by a team from the Project. The best chair from each category will be a part of the silent auction at the Champions Gala. The best overall chair will be signed by Clay Aiken and be a part of the live auction at the Gala.
The four categories are:
- Fan
- Inclusion Awareness
- Regional/State
- Creative/Open
Any chair that is not chosen to come to the Gala can be used however you choose. The National Inclusion Project suggests that you auction off your chair locally to help raise funds for the Project. You also might choose to donate your chair. If so, a brass plaque is available for $15 that can be mounted on the back of the chair. It will say:
Donated on behalf of the National Inclusion Project
www.inclusionproject.org
There are two goals for this project. First, it is a wonderful way for the National Inclusion Project to raise some needed funds for all their wonderful programs. All proceeds from the sale of the chairs, plus the money from the auctions will benefit the Project.
The second goal of this program is to spread the word of the fine work that is done by the National Inclusion Project. The chair will give you the opportunity to talk and spread the word about inclusion and the wonderful programs that are a part of the National Inclusion Project.
So………..are your creative juices flowing? Are you ready to sponsor a chair? If so, contact
The National Inclusion Project for more details.
According to their website:
The National Inclusion Project serves to bridge the gap that exists between young people with disabilities and the world around them. We support communities with inclusive programs and together create awareness about the possibilities that inclusion can bring.
Clay Aiken – Friendship, Comedy, and the Best Singing Around
Posted by: | Comments
Clay Aiken hosted a wonderful event on Monday. Everything was planned and put together with a great deal of care. The event gave us education, friendship, comedy and the best singing around. Having just gotten home, I have just begun to check out the comments and "Clack" that are all about the wonderful concert that Clay Aiken gave on Monday night. Seems like we are headed for a wonderful ride.
Nothing seemed more appropriate than to say no more and just put up some wonderful videos. I know you can get them many places. However, I don't think you can see them too often. Enjoy!!

Clay Aiken – Traveling Home
Posted by: | CommentsIf you ever have the opportunity to see Clay Aiken perform live, be sure and attend. I was at the Golfing event on February 1, 2010 at the Mirasol Country Club. The entire event was amazing.
Right now I am on a plane on my way home, remembering all the excitement from the event.
One of the things I remember the most are all the new friends I met. So many people came up to say hello. Clay fans have to be the most friendly people around. You can never be lonely when you attend a Clay Aiken event.
Each person affiliated with The National Inclusion Project is extremely knowledgeable and excited about what they do. Each staff member greeted their guests and took the time to talk. They made me feel as though I was an important person at the event. I want to especially single out Diane. She went out of her way to chat with people and she treated each one as a true friend.
And of course there is Clay Aiken. He was so casual during the golfing event, joking and relaxed. When he made his appearance at the dinner, his look was still casual, but stylish too. It is wonderful to see him seemingly relaxed, happy, comfortable and looking forward to page two in his career.
The consummate entertainer, he made us laugh and then turned around and held us mesmerized by his wonderful performances. It was fun to hear the "ah" when he would start a new song, followed by a quiet audience, listening to each word and phrase. His voice was magical and he is ready to entertain us!!
My battery is low on my laptop, so I will close by posting a few pictures. Pictures are always good!!
All for now!! When I am home, I will post some more pictures as they come in and we will get some videos up too. Thanks for all your support!

Diane Bubel is talking about having a child with disability and without and how sometimes children with disabilities don't want to have therapy or special treatment but just want to participate or do things like other children. Talking now about how a child can use a bow and arrow like other children with assistance so the child can do things with other children and the other children can see that the disabled child can do the same things. Looking into the audience and seeing how the audience is full of different people and says there was a time when women were isolated, poor children were isolate, but programs accommodated the need for change. Clay Aiken Is In The House
Posted by: | CommentsJust a quick post to update the golfing event.
The golfers are trying to go ahead with the tournament. Almost all of them decided to play.
The brunch was wonderful. The golfers went to attend the workshop, but decided that it would be better inside. It was great and very funny stories… probably better than usual. Clay was then called up and he said that they were putting their heads together as if they were at summer camp on a rainy day… maybe they could all make pot holders. Well, they did come up with some alternatives, The Mirasol is trying to help out too. They opened the swing analyzer for the players. Clay also mentioned that some might want to play poker and they could do that in the lounge. He also said they will still take pictures and then if anyone wants, he will sit and chat with whoever wants to. I guess maybe I should have signed up to play golf. I might have gotten a nice conversation.
After all that, most of the players decided to play.
Clay looked healthy, happy and casual. His hair is short and the color is as I would think his real color is. I took some pictures with my cell phone, but the back lighting is horrible so they are dreadful. I will post them, but I say “sorry” ahead of them.
When I get more news I will post!!
Clay Aiken – National Inclusion Project RoundTable
Posted by: | Comments
Sunday night, I attended a wonderful RoundTable meeting of volunteers of The National Inclusion Project. Aron Hall led the meeting which was lots of fun and full of so much information.
We started the meeting with some great ice-breakers which gave us the opportunity to meet different people in the room. The thirty volunteers became relaxed and seemed to jump right in.
Aron discussed many things with us. I took a few notes, but I am sure that he will be sharing the information with us through the Foundation's web page.
I am just going to list a few of the things that were mentioned......I wish my notes were more organized.
- Did you know that 5000 kids were involved with the National Inclusion Project this year?
- They will no longer be using the title of "Grant". The organization does much more than just "grant' money. They also give hands on training and provide a network system for the "grants". No alternate name was mentioned.
- Job of volunteers has three parts. First, we are a mouthpiece; we share the story. Second, we are firestarters; we create enthusiasm. Lastly, we need to be an organizer.
- With the name change, it is wonderful that we can capitalize on the name......Inclusion.
- Challenge for the year.....Beta Alpha chapters together raise $200,000 in 2010!!
- Wait until you see the new "Painted Bottoms" project.
It was wonderful to join with other volunteers and get ideas and excitement from them. There is so much we can do to support The National Inclusion Project.
A BIG Thank you to Aron who met with us instead of having dinner with Clay at the Country Club dinner. I hope you know how much everyone appreciated the meeting.
And another thank you to Diane and Jerry for stopping in after the dinner to say hello.
Speaking of Clay Aiken............did you all see this picture from the dinner last night? It was reported that Clay sang 3 songs and they were all wonderful.
Update: A recap posted at Clayversity by hippoga:
Aron Hall hosted a Roundtable for "National Inclusion Project" volunteers here at the hotel. There were around 30 people in attendance. Aron spoke eloquently and from the heart about what he hopes "National Inclusion Project" volunteers will be-mouthpieces to "tell the story" of the project and it's mission, firestarters to be enthusiastic about "National Inclusion Project" programs and fundraising activities and organizers to start local activities in our communities to support the "National Inclusion Project". We participated in several activities to meet our fellow volunteers and to share successful projects and ideas from around the country. Diane Buble, Jerry Aiken and Kristie Barnes came in to say hello and thank you when they returned from the dinner/miniconcert for the Mirasol members. Diane assures us that Clay's hair looks good and he sounds great. I'm looking forward to confirming that in person tomorrow!

Clay Aiken – “We Are The Champions”
Posted by: | CommentsThe ClayNation is still celebrating the successful Champions Gala that was held in Raleigh, North Carolina on October 17, 2009. The evening was a combination of love, pride, professionalism, compassion and wonderful music.
Did you realize that there have been seven Galas to honor the work of the BAF/NIP? That in itself is a wonderful accomplishment.
Do you remember these events? I thought a picture review might be fun.
Night of Champions – Kansas City – April 14, 2004
Voices of Change – Los Angeles – November 19, 2004
Voices of Change – Hawaii – February 25, 2005
Voices For Change – Florida – April 16, 2005
Champions of Change – Raleigh – March 31, 2007
Champions of Change – Raleigh – October 18, 2008
Champions Gala – Raleigh – October 17, 2009
Pretty amazing isn’t it? It’s like a mini-history. Do you remember these events? Well, if not, I’m sorry. The details are for another day.
