In case you missed it, Clay Aiken Blogged on Tuesday!
It was obvious in reading his message to the fan club that Clay was excited and looking forward to the new chapter in his career. His enthusiasm was palpable and felt all over the Internet.
I happened to be home and on my computer when Clay blogged. It was fun watching the frenzy of messages that appeared and the energy and excitement that grew as the day went by.
So.........have you decided to take the day off?? Have you asked your daughter to do the grocery shopping? Have you updated your Ticketmaster account?? Is your credit card next to the computer? If so, you are ready. We can only hope that SOON is really SOON!
Whether it is news of the album, news of a tour, or news of the PBS special, Clay Aiken made us all eager to hear more.
I thought it might be fun to see a picture from each of Clay's tours.........hopefully, we can add some others soon.

During 2004 and 2005, Clay Aiken toured throughout the United States during the holiday season. Called The Joyful Noise Tours, Clay presented a program that was filled with joy and was a beautiful way to celebrate the holidays.
One of the most breathtaking moments of the concert was actually the encore. Good News is a dramatic song which conveys the true meaning of Christmas. The song was originally performed by the Christian Group, Avalon. Clay’s performance of the song was exquisite and brought many people to tears.
Good news / Good news
An angel brings Good news
Good news / Good news
I leave you with Good news
Close your eyes / Fold your hands
For a moment let your sorrow fade
Why, oh, why are you afraid
Has this world stripped you of your faith
Close your eyes and on bended knee
Listen to an angel pray
And once again prepare the way
So you’ll see a gift that’s given
For you a time of joy/ Behold a baby boy
Good news / Good news
An angel brings Good news
Good news / Good news
I leave you with Good news
Bow your head / Speak not a word
Let the silence take you far from here
The spirit of a child dry every tear
And may your doubts they disappear
Bow your head and on bended knee
Hear the story once again
The child grew up to wear a cross
A child grew up to pledge a life
For us a time of joy / Behold, Christ a baby boy
Good news / Good news
An angel brings Good news
Good news / Good news
I leave you with Good news
For us His only Son
In a manger wrapped in swaddling clothes
Christ the Savior, Christmas day
All our burdens washed away
We break the bread
We pour the wine
And angels descend with a heavenly sigh
Good news / Good news
An angel brings Good news
Good news / Good news
I leave you with…
I leave you with
Good news
The following video was recorded in Kansas City during the 2005 tour. I would imagine you will just have to watch it more than once. I certainly would love to see this song on Clay’s next Christmas album.
Clay Aiken has stated that he is a huge fan of Steven Curtis Chapman. Do you know Steven?
Steven Curtis Chapman is a name that anyone and everyone who listens to Christian music knows.
Born in 1962 in Paducah, Kentucky, Chapman is an amazing talent and a real star in contemporary music.
Chapman started his career in the late 1980’s as a songwriter. But, today he is known as one of the most prolific singers in the Christian music field and has released more than 20 albums.
His list of accomplishments includes 56 Dove Awards, more than any other artist in history. He has earned 5 Grammys, an American Music Award, 2 certified platinum and 10 gold albums. He has sold over 10 million albums and has had 45 #1 radio hits. Chapman also won seven “Artist of the Year” Dove Awards. His latest was in 2009 and is an industry record.
In 1995, Chapman released his first Christmas Album entitled, “The Music of Christmas” and it was a huge success. The album was re-released in 2004 as a Hallmark exclusive.
It is not surprising that Clay Aiken is a huge fan of Steven Curtis Chapman. They have met more than once and Clay has sung many of Chapman’s songs. Clay even dazzled Chapman’s fans in 2007 when he was a surprise guest at the Winter Jam in Greensboro, NC. He joined Chapman, singing “The Great Adventure.”
Because of Clay’s love of Steven’s songs, it is not surprising that Clay chose to start his Joyful Noise Concert in 2004 with a beautiful rendition of “The Music of Christmas.” Joined by a children’s choir, Clay made a dramatic entrance onto the stage and the entire audience was right in the palm of his hands.
One of the most exciting concerts of that tour was in Pasadena, California. The concert was after Christmas as the original date was postponed because Clay was ill. The following video is wonderful as it shows the exciting entrance, the wonderful children’s choir, the excitement of the crowd and the brilliant song, penned by Steven Curtis Chapman and sung from the heart by Clay Aiken.
There’s a man who stands in the cold wind tonight,
And he greets everyone passing by
With a smile and a ringing bell;
And the song that he’s playing, is his own way of saying:
Love is here, it’s the music of Christmas.
And there’s a lady who sits all alone with her thoughts,
And the memories of all that she’s lost,
When she hears a sound at her door,
And a song comes to find her, as a gentle reminder:
Love is here, it’s the music of Christmas.
CHORUS
So listen, listen with your heart
And you will hear a song in the laughter of a child.
Oh won’t you listen for the sound of hope,
And you will hear the music of Christmas,
For the music of Christmas is love;
Oh, its love.
So light the fire, tell the family to gather around,
And the walls will echo the sound
Of memories that are and will be;
And their voices, like a chorus, will sing it so sweetly for us;
Love is here, it’s the music of Christmas.
(chorus)
Long ago, a baby was born in the night,
And as He let out His very first cry,
The sound was bringing hope alive.
Stars were shining, angels singing;
All heaven and earth was ringing:
Love is here, this is the music of Christmas.
In 2005, Clay Aiken traveled around the USA and presented The Joyful Noise Tour. It was more than a concert, but still highlighted the wonderful voice of Clay, backed by his accomplished back-up singers. It was fun to see how Clay used some talented actors and singers from his hometown of Raleigh. He also used capable performers from local theater groups from the area of the concert.
Did you get to see this concert live?? I was lucky enough to see it twice.
Because of the talent of so many fans, we have many wonderful pictures from that tour. Please vote for your favorite picture. This will be hard!!
